I live and work on Wadawurrung Country in central Victoria, Australia.

I love to create beautiful things using vintage and pre-loved fabrics and materials.

In my work, I acknowledge and appreciate the quality of the fabric and skill of the original creator. Old items are given a new life, rather than being discarded – honouring the women who spent hours, decades ago hand stitching each piece. Linen tea towels, table linens and garments are cut up and sewn back together into comfortable, size inclusive, one of a kind clothes. The off-cuts are made into earrings, bangles, necklaces and home décor soft sculpture.

Many of the women in my family are crafters. I learnt to sew as a young teenager, filling my wardrobe with creations made from old fabric or altered second hand clothes. As a child of the ‘70s and ‘80s there was a lot of painting, bleaching and dyeing. My desire and passion for creating comes from those childhood experiences.

For almost a decade in the ‘90s I was the co-owner of a clothing label and store. From our Brunswick Street (Fitzroy) shop front and studio, I started making clothes and accessories out of recycled materials – table cloths, tea towels, sleeping bags, towels, bed spreads and anything else that sparked inspiration. I’ve always been drawn to using natural materials and the importance of reusing and repurposing what already exists, something more important than ever in a world of fast-fashion and climate collapse.

After more than two decades on another career path, 2025 saw my return to the creative space and textile work, providing support, workshops and mentoring in the remote art centre space and starting to create online tutorials to make textile work more accessible.

In addition to sewing, I love spending time in my flower and vegetable garden and in my kitchen cooking colourful, nutritious dishes.
